Proctored Assessments
Complete guide to participating in supervised assessments that require proctor oversight.
Proctored assessments are supervised exams that require real-time oversight from a certified proctor. These assessments ensure academic integrity and are commonly used for high-stakes certifications and evaluations.
Understanding Proctored Requirements
Section titled “Understanding Proctored Requirements”What Makes an Assessment Proctored
Section titled “What Makes an Assessment Proctored”Assessments become proctored when:
- Publishers enable the “Force Proctor” setting on the content
- Administrators assign content with “Use Proctor” enabled
- The assessment is marked for supervised completion
You’ll see a street-view icon (👤) next to proctored content in your dashboard and course listings.
Technical Requirements
Section titled “Technical Requirements”Before starting a proctored assessment, ensure you have:
- Stable internet connection
- Updated web browser
- Working microphone and camera (if required)
- Quiet, private testing environment
- Valid identification ready
Joining Proctored Sessions
Section titled “Joining Proctored Sessions”Auto-Enroll Sessions
Section titled “Auto-Enroll Sessions”For sessions with automatic enrollment:
- Navigate to the proctored assessment
- Click Enter Enroll Code when prompted
- Enter the enroll code provided by your administrator
- Click Join Session
The system will automatically assign you to the appropriate session and update any existing enrollment records.
Manual Assignment
Section titled “Manual Assignment”For pre-assigned sessions:
- Access the assessment from your dashboard
- You’ll be automatically directed to the proctor lobby
- Wait for the proctor to start the session
- Once started, you’ll be redirected to the assessment
During the Assessment
Section titled “During the Assessment”Proctor Lobby Experience
Section titled “Proctor Lobby Experience”When you first access a proctored assessment:
- You’ll enter a waiting lobby with “Waiting” status
- The proctor will verify your identity and setup
- Once the session begins, your status changes to “In Session”
- You’ll be automatically redirected to the assessment content
Session States
Section titled “Session States”Your session will progress through these states:
- Waiting - In lobby, waiting for proctor to start
- In Session - Assessment is active and available
- Completed - Assessment finished
Assessment Rules
Section titled “Assessment Rules”During proctored sessions:
- Follow all verbal instructions from your proctor
- Keep your camera and microphone active if required
- Avoid switching browser tabs or applications
- Raise your hand or speak up for technical issues
- Complete the assessment within the allotted time
Proctor Interaction

Section titled “Communication Guidelines”Your proctor may:
- Verify your identity before starting
- Provide verbal instructions about the assessment
- Monitor your progress throughout
- Assist with technical difficulties
- Stop the session if integrity concerns arise
Getting Help
Section titled “Getting Help”If you experience issues during the assessment:
- Raise your hand to get the proctor’s attention
- Clearly describe the technical problem
- Follow the proctor’s troubleshooting instructions
- Wait for permission before taking any actions
Technical Troubleshooting
Section titled “Technical Troubleshooting”Common Issues
Section titled “Common Issues”Cannot Enter Enroll Code
- Verify the code is correct (codes are case-sensitive)
- Ensure the session is still active
- Contact your administrator if the code doesn’t work
Stuck in Waiting Status
- Confirm the proctor has started the session
- Check your internet connection
- Refresh the browser if the status doesn’t update
Assessment Won’t Load
- Ensure you meet all technical requirements
- Clear your browser cache and cookies
- Try using a different browser
- Contact technical support if issues persist
Browser Requirements
Section titled “Browser Requirements”For optimal performance:
- Use Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge
- Enable JavaScript and cookies
- Allow camera/microphone access when prompted
- Disable browser extensions that might interfere
Certification Upon Completion
Section titled “Certification Upon Completion”Results Processing
Section titled “Results Processing”After completing a proctored assessment:
- Results are processed automatically
- Pass/fail status is determined by the passing score
- Certificates are generated for successful completions
- Results appear in your transcript and reports
Verification Information
Section titled “Verification Information”Your completion record will include:
- Proctor name and credentials
- Session date and time
- Assessment results and scores
- Verification of supervised completion

Failed Attempts
